Launch Pages

Spectronaut 15 comes with many novel and enhanced features for the most complete and versatile quantitative proteomics software. Take advantage of improved performance and more advanced deep learning augmentation. Spectronaut is now easier to use than ever and features even more ways to launch into your data.

“With this new Spectronaut release, we offer our software users and service customers once more a higher level of performance, user experience, and insights to support their discovery proteomics research.”

Dr. Lukas Reiter, CTO of Biognosys

“We found Spectronaut to be the best match for our DIA projects. It provides the quantitative reliability we aim for, and the speed and scalability our workflows require.”

Prof. Dr. Jesper Velgaard Olsen, CPR University of Copenhagen

Feature Overview

  • More identifications: Benefit from significant improvements to both library-based DIA analysis and directDIA, the industry-leading workflow for DIA analysis without a spectral library

  • Improved quantification: Now featuring the MaxLFQ algorithm, seamlessly integrated into the Quantification Workflow

  • Comprehensive PTM workflow: Gain deeper insights into the biological roles of protein modifications with more comprehensive PTM site analysis
  • Enhanced user experience: The most powerful data visualization for DIA proteomics, now in an even more intuitive user interface

  • Deep learning augmentation: Improved deep learning augmentation with significant advantages for immunopeptidomics and ion mobility data analysis

Improved Identification Performance

Spectronaut 15 can identify more proteins than ever in library-based analysis, especially for short gradients and dia-PASEF data.

At the same time, we are proud to share the latest iteration of our industry-leading, library-free directDIA workflow. Identification numbers are even higher than before for many datasets, and specifically for dia-PASEF data.

Keeping false discoveries in check has always been a priority for Spectronaut. The newly introduced run-wise protein FDR control is used by default in the new version. This further improves confidence in your analysis results and quantification without decreasing the number of identified proteins compared to Spectronaut 14.

Quantify with Confidence

Accurately measuring differentially abundant proteins in biological samples is at the core of proteomics research.

Spectronaut makes it easy to compare sample groups with each other while also having full access to the underlying raw data. With version 15, Spectronaut now provides default settings that are helping you to get optimal quantification results with less effort.

The MaxLFQ1, 2 algorithm is now available for protein quantification in Spectronaut and can be used directly for differential abundance profiling, providing an additional, reliable quantitative analysis option.

Improved PTM Analysis Workflow

Post-translational modifications (PTMs) play an important role in the regulation of protein function and are the focus of many proteomics projects.

Spectronaut 15 features extensive support for PTM studies in the form of site-based localization3, quantification, and regulation analysis. This is complemented with powerful new visualizations and user-friendly site-based reporting.

In this tutorial, Monika Puchalska from our Product Support team showcases the setup and review of PTM analysis in Spectronaut, using phosphorylation as an example.

A new way to visualize your DIA data

A user-friendly experience has always been a top priority during the development of Spectronaut.

With Spectronaut 15, Biognosys has made significant improvements in this direction, including an even more intuitive user interface, a protein-centric analysis view for differential protein expression, and interactive mobilograms for the ion mobility dimension.

In this video, Fabia Simona from our Product Support team walks you through the most significant improvements to the user interface in Spectronaut 15.
